The following would occur:

print_vars: printf -v _value %s backspace keypad euro2
|
|
print_vars: [[ -n backspacekeypadeuro2 ]]
|
|
print_vars: printf '%s=\"%s\"\n' EXT_KEYMAPS backspacekeypadeuro2
|
